Honorary Life Members

Looking for ways to honor service, the PEC (Post Executive Committee) concluded that we could honor our members who have served Franklinton Post 52 and The American Legion for more than 40 years of continuous service. It was decided that an Honorary Life membership would start with their 41st year of service. It was then voted on at two consecutive membership meetings and approved unanimously at both. After reviewing membership records, we identified eight members eligible for this honor.

Shown here (l to r) are 6 of the eight members who attended our November meeting. They are: Durwood Davis - 56 years, Charles Oakley - 52 years, Smokey Stover - 42 years, Brodie Green - 61 years, Ronald Champion - 58 years, and Steve Ijames - 47 years. The two members who were unable to attend were Donald Appleford (58 years) and Michael Strickland (42 years).
