Mike served in the North Carolina National Guard for over 36 years. He deployed to Iraq in 2004 with the 30th Brigade Combat Team and served as the Operations Officer for the 1/252nd Armor Battalion. He also deployed to Iraq in 2009 with the 449th Combat Aviation Brigade as the Brigade Logistics Officer.
As a civilian, Mike worked in the Federal Civil Service for over 25 years. He began as a Training Officer and also served as a Logistics Planning Officer for the North Carolina National Guard.
