About Ed Wilson:

Sergeant First Class (SFC) Edward "Ed" Wilson, U.S.Army Retired, joined the service in 1968. He reported to Fort Lewis, WA, for Basic Training, after which he attended Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, VA.

Arriving in Da Nang Province, Republic of Vietnam, in 1968, he served two tours of duty in Vietnam.

Ed was wounded in combat during his second tour in 1970 and received the Purple Heart. Returning to the States, he served at many duty stations from 1970 to 1974, including Fort Hood, TX, Fort Dix, NJ, and Fort Carson, CO.

From 1975 to 1988, Ed was stationed both overseas, in Japan and Germany, and at home, in Fort Lee, VA, where he retired from military service.

Ed has been a member of The American Legion for 14 years. He served as Post 52 Adjutant under three different Commanders, from 2013 through 2019.
